Shocker for Karnataka Ex- Chief minister. According to the reports, Lokayukta filed an FIR against two former Karnataka chief ministers , BS Yeddyurappa and HD Kumaraswamy. They have been charged over an illegal land deal in the IT city.
The charges over Yeddyurappa were de-notifying a prime piece of land in Bangalore to benefit a relative of Kumaraswamy. The land in RT Nagar was earlier acquired by the Bangalore Development Authority.
The process of de-notifying the land began during the reign of Kumaraswamy and was formalized when Yeddyurappa was the chief minister.
The Criminal conspiracy was charged over the leaders. Additional charges were breach of trust and cheating. The FIR also names a man named Rajashekaraiah, who claims to be the owner of the land. The Lokayukta has acted on the basis of a complaint filed by RTI activist Jayakumar Jiremath.
