According to a news daily, Tapeshwar Singh a migrant from Bihar cycled for miles and months to search for his missing wife Babita who had gone missing nine months ago. Most of the people who would have been in Tapeshwar’s situation would have declared their wife dead, but in Tapeshwar’s case, his love for his wife did not deter as he had faith and hope that he would find her one day. Tapeshwar married Babita who was mentally challenged and her relatives had left her in Dharamshala in Brijghat, U.P. A Few months later, Babita went missing and Tapeshwar had no clue where to look for her. He cycled on the streets with the hope of finding her. Tapeshwar tirelessly cycled the streets carrying posters of his wife and for some days, cycled without food and water. Soon after the word spread, Tapeshwar came to know from one of his acquaintances that Babita had been taken for trafficking. Tapeshwar visited all the brothels and found out Babita was brought to the red light area, but because of her mental health, the deal was called off. In spite of lodging a FIR with the police, no evidence was found. On November 13th, Tapeshwar got a call from a man in Brijghat who said, that he had witnessed Babita begging on the streets of Haridwar. Tapeshwar cycled till Haridwar and searched for his wife the whole day but didn’t find her. Much like a climax of a Hindi movie, later in the evening, Tapeshwar spotted Babita sitting in torn clothes. He said to a news outlet, “I first rubbed my eyes in disbelief. She was covered just in tatters, but it was her. Her sight almost paralyzed me. For eight months, I had searched for her day and night. I spent every penny I had saved in the last decade on a journey that sometimes seemed futile. But there she was.”
Call him old fashioned, but his selfless love towards his wife brought them together again. Tapeshwar found the love of his life and reunited with his wife and they are living there happily ever after!
