Abhijeet Mankar the owner of 1 Above pub was arrested today in connection with the Kamala Mills fire. The Kamala Mills fire on the 29th of December claimed the lives of 14 people. Mankar absconded along with co-owners of the pub, Jigar Sanghvi and Kripesh Sanghavi since the incident occurred.

Senior Police Inspector at the NM Joshi Marg Police Station, Ahmed Pathan said, “Our team arrested owner of the 1 Above pub, Abhijeet Mankar, from Marine Lines in the early hours.” The Investigating Team arrested Jigar and Kripesh Sanghvi last night from Andheri.

Pathan reported the team managed to nab Mankar after interrogating the duo who gave information about Mankar’s whereabouts. Another police official explained, “Now our teams are in search of Yug Tulli, owner of Mojo’s Bistro pub, who is also on the run.”

Yesterday, Tulli was spotted at the Hyderabad Airport but was unable to fly. The team that arrived at the airport was unable to spot him. The official reported the teams were tracing Tulli is Hyderabad. The official was quoted saying, “The hearing on Tulli’s anticipatory bail application is scheduled today, following which further action will be decided according to the orders of the Court.”

The Official further explained all the ones arrested will be produced before the Bhoiwada Court today afternoon. Apart from the three owners of 1 Above pub, the police arrested Vishal Kariya a hotelier for giving illegal shelter to the Sanghvi brothers and Abhijeet Mankar.

The owners have been booked under culpable homicide and other offenses under the Indian Penal Code. The police had also announced a cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh for any information regarding the owners’ whereabouts.

Last week the police arrested Tulli’s partner in Mojo’s Yug Pathak. Yug is the son of retired Director General of Police and former Commissioner of Police in Pune K. K. Pathak.

The arrests were made on the basis of the Fire Brigade report. It reported the fire broke out at Mojo’s Bistro and spread to 1 Above.
