CHATTISGARH: A 28 year old journalist, Supreet Kaur from Chattisgarh has left India talking about her bravery! A wife cries out when she hears about her husband’s death, but this woman stood out, proving to be courageous when she learned about her spouse’s death in a tragic road accident.
Supreet was live on television when the news reporter told her about the incident over phone. The reporter did not reveal the names but the details of the car and the region where her husband was traveling, was enough to gauge that she was reading out her own loss. Supreet, who was already broken deep within, read the news the way she did on every other day.
A senior editor with IBC 24, which is one of the leading Hindi channels told a daily, “As she read out the news, she found out that it was the vehicle her husband was to travel in in that region on the same day.” Kaur continued to read the morning bulletin news for at least 10 minutes and the footage of Kaur reading news like nothing had happened has gone viral across social media platforms.
People from all over the country on social media saluted the journalist and offered their condolences. Many known celebrities, journalists and also Chief Minister of Chattisgarh, Dr. Raman Singh, tweeted to salute Kaur for her bravery.
He said, “Salute Supreet’s strength in dealing with her husband’s demise with extraordinary bravery & professionalism.May (his) departed soul rest in peace.”
Supreet Kaur has set an example to all of us to be brave at the toughest of situations. She is truly India’s new hero.
