Amaravati and Visakhapatnam, two cities of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) received awards for being the best cities under the Smart City Mission program.
At a time when A.P., is struggling with its capital issue, it is a great honour for Andhra Pradesh.
On the 24th of January, a two day seminar started in Visakhapatnam. The summit of the attractive cities is being conducted by the Union Home Ministry and Urban Affairs Departments in Visakhapatnam, A.P.
The awards were given to cities which performed well and are ideal in terms of being smart cities.
Visakhapatnam and Amaravati are amongst the few cities which did well with regard to smart cities’ development.
While Visakhapatnam won the award for setting up a floating solar power plant in Mudasar, Amaravati won the award in the Recognition of Performance category.
Surat, Gujarat, also won an award in the Best Performance category.
