On the 26th of May, 10 passengers travelling by a private bus were injured when the bus turned over in Mandasa town of Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

The bus was coming from Bengaluru and was on the way to Kolkata with stranded migrant workers.

Mr. Prasad, the Sub Inspector of Mandasa police station, said, “A bus from Bangalore to Kolkata was passing by National Highway near Mandasa before the bus overturned due to overspeeding.”

However no casualties were reported and only 10 out of the total 41 passengers were injured.

Mr. Prasad said, “Nobody was critically injured and has been taken to Palasa government hospital.” He further said, “Driver and cleaner have absconded after the mishap.  A case will be registered and investigation will begin soon.  A search for (the) driver and cleaner has been launched.”

According to the initial investigation, the bus might have turned over due to rash driving.  Meanwhile, the police launched an investigation and filed a case against the driver and cleaner who are currently absconding under relevant Section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)
