In Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa district, the police arrested four accused in a rape case. On the 12th of May, Thursday, the police arrested four people identified as Pathan Sadhak, Sheikh Abdul Rasool, Battala Simon and B. Sipoy Chinnayya, for allegedly raping a mentally retarded girl in Proddatur in YSR Kadapa district. The four accused were detained while they were travelling on the Erraguntla bypass road.
Furthermore, the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ms. Neelam Poojitha confirmed the updates and disclosed the details to the media, during a press meeting on Thursday. She also said the case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Obscenity (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe ( SC ST) Atrocity case.
Meanwhile, the District SP Mr. Anburajan warned the press and other media houses not to publish rumours in the case, otherwise, strict action would be taken.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission chairperson Ms. Vasireddy Padma spoke to SP Mr. Anburajan and ordered a complete investigation expeditiously. In addition, the District Women and Child Welfare officials were ordered to take charge until the girl’s health plummeted.
A member of the Women’s Commission Gajjala Lakshmi was sent to the victim girl immediately. She said the commission would accept the case as Suomoto’s and assured the victim of help in all respects.
On the other hand, in the past few months, many rape and sexual assault cases are happening in the Telugu State.
