On the 3rd of December, another incident of rape and murder came to light. The incident was reported in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
According to sources, three unidentified men allegedly gang raped a 50 year old widow and after the rape, murdered her. After the demise of her son and husband, the victim lived alone in G. Vemavaram village of East Godavari district. The woman is survived by a daughter who lives in Hyderabad.
The Andhra Pradesh Police said the accused committed the crime when the woman was alone at her residence.
As of now, the police arrested one of the suspects and are searching for the other two. However, the identities of the suspects were not yet revealed.
Adnan Nayeem Asmi, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Godavari, visited the scene of the crime and assured the absconding culprits would be arrested and the case would be solved within 24 hours.
On the other hand, M. Sucharita, the Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 3rd of December, visited an all women police station in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh.
The visit was planned after a few women complained against a few police officials, stating the police officials do not respond to their complaints immediately.
The incident comes at a time when the Nation is fuming over the brutal murder and rape of Disha, a veterinarian doctor. On the 27th of November, 4 truck drivers allegedly abducted Disha, raped her and then burnt her alive in Hyderabad’s Shadnagar. The 4 accused are in the judicial custody of the Cyberabad Police Station.
The Andhra Pradesh Police registered a case and started an investigation regarding the rape and murder case of the 50 year old woman.
