Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, established 56 new Backward Class (BC) Corporations.

The BC corporations have been established on the basis of caste population.

On the 16th of October, the Andhra Pradesh Government issued orders setting up 56 BC corporations for backward classes in the state.

A.P., Government set up Backward Class (BC) corporations for 139 sub caste on the BC list.

These corporations under the leadership of a chairman would work towards the progress of BC list castes in the State.

There would be one Chairman, 7 to 12 directors for each corporation.

Corporations with a population of over ten lakhs are classified under ‘A’ category, corporations with a population of one lakh to ten lakhs are classified under ‘B’ category and corporations with a population of less than one lakh are classified under ‘C’ category.

Also, the appointment of the chairman and directors of BC Corporations would take place on the 18th of October.

The State Government said the corporations would help ensure that the schemes implemented by the Government for the backward castes reach the beneficiaries faster.

According to sources, the Mr. Reddy led YSRCP decided to appoint more women chairperson with 29 posts against the men with 27 posts.

These corporations would function under the leadership of a chairperson and would work for the progress and development of the respective castes.
