N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday, spoke about K. Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR,) ‘third front’ idea during a teleconference.

Recently, KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced, he plans to form a third front party at the national level, against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress party, to make India BJP and Congress free.

Chandrababu Naidu criticised KCR’s attempts and said, “A third front will be nothing but a help to the BJP from the backdoor.” He further stated, the third front party will help the BJP by splitting votes.

Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) organised a teleconference with all the party members and shared his plan of action for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections and the candidates contesting these elections.

Addressing the media, Mr. Naidu confirmed, the candidates of the 2019 elections will be announced in advance, which will help them get sufficient time ahead of the elections and be prepared.

Speaking about the elections, Mr. Naidu said, “Whenever the elections are held, we should be ready to face them.” He further added, “We will win the elections on the basis of our good work.”

Mr. Naidu also directed a question toward Asaduddin Owaisi, President, All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM,) as to when he became friends with Jagan Mohan Reddy, a Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader. He also asked if Asaduddin Owaisi’s and Jagan Mohan Reddy’s friendship was set up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Naidu posed these questions after Asaduddin Owaisi stated he will campaign on behalf of Jagan Mohan Reddy for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.

Andhra Pradesh will conduct its Assembly elections along with the Lok Sabha elections, in 2019. The State will poll for 25 Lok Sabha seats and 175 Assembly seats. The major parties which will contest the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections are TDP, YSRCP and Jana Sena Party.
