Pydikondala Manikyala Rao, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and ex minister of Andhra Pradesh passed away on the 1st of August. 

Mr. Manikyala Rao, who  served as the Endowments Minister of Andhra Pradesh between 2014 to 2018, died due to the deadly Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Manikyala Rao tested Covid-19 positive a month back and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

His health condition worsened by the day and he passed away in the afternoon of the 1st of August. 

Sunil Deodhar, the Spokesperson of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh  confirmed the demise of Mr. Manikyala Rao.

Sunil Deodhar spoke about Mr. Rao and said he was  “A hard-working and a leader with  (a) clean image.”

Manikyala Rao also served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Tadepalligudem constituency.  He was currently  serving as the General Secretary of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh. 

Manikyala Rao, passed away at an age of 60 years old and was one of the respected politicians in Andhra Pradesh.
