On the 11th of June, Rs. 2,233 crores were deposited in the bank accounts of approximately 21.22 lakh farmers, under the Rythu Bandhu Scheme (RBS.)

S. Niranjan Reddy, the Agriculture Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) implemented the scheme after the Cabinet meeting and directed the concerned officials to deposit the money.

Mr. Niranjan also asked the officials to ensure every farmer gets the amount without any difficulty.

The RBS funds are deposited into the accounts of the farmers through the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Kuber system.

Apart from the RBS funds, the AP Government also released Rs. 4,837 crores for cooperatives, self help groups and agriculture market committees to disburse the money to the farmers against paddy procurement.

Out of the Rs. 1,080 crore pending bills, the State Government released Rs. 501 crores on Tuesday, Niranjan Reddy said.

The officials of the Agricultural Department are responsible for depositing the money into farmers’ accounts and clearing the debts.
