The Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 20th of May, organised a live press conference in Amravati, Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababuaidu, the Chief Minister of AP and the President of the TDP addressed the conference and continued his fight against the malfunctioned Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) counting.

Naidu along with 21 opposition parties filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC,) against the malfunctioned EVMs and demanded 50% counting through VVPAT slips.

However, the SC refused to hear the petition and dismissed the case.

The press conference was regarding the EVMs issues and demanding transparency in the results of the Lok Sabha elections.

During the press conference, Naidu asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to be unbiased and fair towards the results. He also mocked the ECI for being a puppet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Naidu said, the ECI is playing with the emotions of people who supported the TDP, by being unfair with the other parties and being partial.

After the press conference, Naidu is expected to visit to Kolkata and meet Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal to discuss the post elections alliance.

The results of the Lok Sabha elections is scheduled to be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.

Stay tuned for further updates about the Lok Sabha elections.
