Andhra Pradesh Government Conducts Review Meeting Regarding Village Secretariat

The Andhra Pradesh Government, on the 10th of August, conducted a review meeting and took crucial decisions regarding the village and ward secretariats in A.P.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, conducted the meeting. During the meeting, the State Government decided to set up a Purchasing and Monitoring Unit (PMU) call center for village and ward secretariats.

The call center was inaugurated by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on the 10th of August.

The PMU would alert the village / ward secretariats assuring the solution of the issue within the stipulated time.

The first four services would be overseen by the PMU, which would be increased to 543 PMUs by October.

CM Y.S. Jagan also released the social audit guidelines today.

The CM has started providing net facilities to the secretariats in remote areas.

Several secretariats in the Stata are without internet access and would soon have internet facilities. As of now, internet connection has already been set up in 213 secretariats and the rest will be set up in the next 2 months.

He said the village secretariat should train employees on government welfare programs. Volunteers said the secretariat employees should have a full understanding of Government schemes, and would be able to make it understand to the public.

On the occasion Mr. Jagan also said that examinations for vacancies in village and ward secretariats should be conducted by September and the recruitment process should be completed.
