Andhra Pradesh Government Postpones All CET Till September Amid Covid-19

On the 13th of July, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government, decided to postpone all Common Entrance Tests (CET.)

The decision was taken in the wake of the rise of the Novel Coronavirus cases in the State.

In the past week, Andhra Pradesh reported over 1,000 single day spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases.

 Considering the ongoing pandemic crisis and safety of the students, the State Education department decided to postpone the CET.f

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, conducted a review meeting regarding the same.  The State Education Minister A. Suresh and other officials of the Andhra Pradesh Education Ministry were also present during the review meeting regarding the CETs. 

During the meeting, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the concerned official to postpone CETs in the State.

 After the discussion, the Education department announced to conduct the CETs later in the third week of September.

Initially, the CET were expected to be held in July.

The official dates with detail schedule of the CETs are yet to be announced.
