Andhra Pradesh – No Special Treatment For Chandrababu Naidu

N. Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) was treated as a normal passenger at the Vijayawada Airport.

On the 14th of June, after finishing his workshop with the TDP leaders and workers, Mr. Naidu went to the Vijayawada Airport to catch a flight to Hyderabad.

The security staff did not give any special treatment to Naidu and asked him to follow the regular process of checking in, like the other passengers at the airport.

The security staff did not even permit Naidu’s convoy till the aircraft and forced him to use a regular passenger bus to reach the flight.

Although Naidu has Z plus security, his convoy was stopped at the entrance and he was asked to follow the normal procedure of boarding.

The State Police also withdrew two convoys given to Naidu and reduced the security offered to him, after the formation of the new government in Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP leaders characterized the treatment by security staff at the airport, as ill treatment.

Budha Venkanna, the Speaker of the TDP, said, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is showcasing their power and harassing Naidu.

The TDP leaders also said, the new Government and the State Police is risking the safety of Naidu by reducing his security officials and minimum facilities and VIP treatments at public places.

The YSRCP won the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections held on the 11th of April and formed a new Government in the State.
