Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, on the 14th of July, visited Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh (AP.)

E.S.L. Narasimhan, the Governor of AP, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of AP and other officials welcomed Mr. Kovind at the airport.

Mr. Kovind, who is on a two day visit to Tirupati, offered prayers at Lord Venkateswara atop Tirumala, on the 14th of July. Later, he also visited Sri Bhu Varaha Swamy temple and later, the Tirumala temple, with his wife Savita and daughter Swati.

President Kovind also visited Tiruchanoor and worshipped Goddess Padmavathi and Kapila Teertham to seek the blessings of Kapileswara Swamy.

Y.V. Subba Reddy, the Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, Anil Kumar, the Executive Officer of TTD and A.V. Dharma Reddy, Special Officer of TTD, welcomed the President of India and accompanied him in the prayers.

He stayed at Tirumala overnight and came to witness the launch of Chandrayaan 2. However, due to technical issues, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) postponed the launch until further announcement.

Mr. Kovind will fly back to Delhi on the 15th of July.
