On the 8th of August, the Andhra Pradesh Health department confirmed nearly 10,000 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. Of the total cases, 80% were reported in the past month.
On the evening of the 8th of August, the Andhra Pradesh Health Department confirmed 10,080 new COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries recorded in the past 24 hours are 9,151, fatalities reocrded are 97.
With these updates, Andhra Pradesh has 2,17,040 positive cases, 85,486 active cases, 1,29,615 recovered cases and 1,939 deceased.
On the other hand, top districts with the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus active cases are East Godavari (13,794,) Kurnool (9,480,) Guntur (7,588,) Anantapur (6,925) and Chittoor (6,919.)
In terms of the Novel Coronavirus, Andhra Pradesh has now become one of the fastest growing states in the country. The cases are growing rapidly at a rate of 6.70%
In addition, the mortality rate of COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh is 0.90% and the recovery rate now is 59.70%.
Till the 8th of August, Andhra Pradesh conducted a total of 24,24,393 tests for the Novel Coronavirus.
The total population of the State as per 2019 data is 5,22,21,000.
