On the 10th of August, the Andhra Pradesh Health department confirmed nearly 7,000 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
This is the first time in the last few days, Andhra Pradesh reported less than 10,000 cases.
However, the everyday spike in the cases is higher than any other state in India except Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
As a result, Andhra Pradesh is on the third place in the list of highest number of COVID-19 cases in Indian states.
The top two are Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
With the new cases, the total reached 2,35,525 cases till date.
Meanwhile, the number of deceased reached a total of 2,116 with 80 new cases in the past 24 hours.
With these updates, Andhra Pradesh has a total 2,35,525 positive cases, 87,773 active cases, and 1,45,636 recovered/discharged cases and 1,618 deceased.
The top five districts of Andhra Pradesh with the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus active cases are East Godavari (14,239) Kurnool (9,741,) Visakhapatnam (8,081,) Chittoor (7,032) and Guntur (7,514)
In terms of the Novel Coronavirus, Andhra Pradesh has now become one of the fastest growing states in the country. The cases are growing rapidly at a rate of 6.20 %.
In addition, the mortality rate of COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh is 0.90 %, the average growth rate of the infection is now 8.60 % from the previous 8% and the recovery rate now is 61.80 % from the previous 54.20 %.
Till the 5th of August, Andhra Pradesh conducted a total of 25,34,304 tests for the Novel Coronavirus.
The total population of the State as per 2019 data is 5,22,21,000.
