The Wuhan virus cases have been falling in Andhra Pradesh since the last two weeks. In the past 24 hours, the State reported as many as 8,110 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
Along with 8,110 new cases, the State reported 67 fatalities and 12,981 people recovered from the deadly virus. The updated COVID-19 cases were confirmed by a media bulletin, released by the Andhra Pradesh Health Department.
According to the released media bulletin, in the past 24 hours, Andhra Pradesh conducted as many as 97,863 sample tests for the Novel Coronavirus. With this, till the 10th of June, Andhra Pradesh Medical Department conducted as many as 2,01,37,627 tests for the COVID-19 infection.
As per the released data, of the new 8,110 cases, East Godavari district has reported the highest 1,416 new cases followed by 1,042 in Chittoor, 906 in Anantapur district, 792 in West Godavari, 600 in Prakasam and 576 in Krishna. On the other hand, kurnool district has registered the least number of cases with 235 cases of the Wuhan virus.
With the aforementioned data, Andhra Pradesh has 17,87,883 positive cases, of which 99,057 are active cases, 16,74,168 are recovered/discharged cases and 11,763 are deceased cases.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Government led by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is trying to combat the spread of the virus and imposed a partial lockdown in the State. The imposed partial lockdown/curfew is said to be in effect until the 20th of June.
