The cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 are rising rapidly in Andhra Pradesh. In the second wave of COVID-19, Andhra Pradesh in the past 24 hours reported 8,987 new cases, taking the total to 9.68 lakhs cases.
The new cases were updated through a media bulletin, which releases on a regular basis by the State Health Department. According to the released bulletin, between the 19th and the 20th of April, Andhra Pradesh reported 8,987 new cases, 35 deaths and 3,116 recovered/discharged cases of COVID-19. With this, Andhra Pradesh has 9,68,000 total positive cases, of which 9,15,626 are recovered/discharged cases, 53,889 are active cases and 7,472 deceased cases.
In addition, as per the bulletin, Nellore (1,347,) Srikakulam (1,344,) Guntur (1,202,) Chittoor (1,063) and East Godavari (851) are top districts with the highest number of COVID-19 cases.
In addition, the State has so far conducted 1,57,53,679 tests including 37,922 tests in the last twenty four hours. Going into the district wise data, Nellore has topped the list reporting 1347 cases followed by 1344 Srikakulam and 1202 in Guntur.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 vaccination program is ongoing in Andhra Pradesh. The State has received 6 lakh vaccine doses on Saturday, the 19th of April and sought more doses from the Central Government.
