On the 11th of August, the Andhra Pradesh Health department confirmed nearly 9,024 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
After reporting 7,000 cases on the 10th of August, the State Government once again reported approximately 10,000 cases.
The everyday spike in the cases is higher than any other state in India except Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
As a result, Andhra Pradesh is on the third place in the list of highest number of COVID-19 cases in Indian states.
The top two are Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
With the new cases, the total reached 2,44,549 cases till date.
Meanwhile, the number of deceased reached a total of 2,203.
With these updates, Andhra Pradesh has a total 2,44,549 positive cases, 87,597 active cases, and 1,54,749 ecovered/discharged cases and 2,203 deceased.
The top five districts of Andhra Pradesh with the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus active cases are East Godavari (6,433) Kurnool (29,452) Visakhapatnam (7,506,) Chittoor (7,200) and Guntur (7,474.)
In terms of the Novel Coronavirus, Andhra Pradesh has now become one of the fastest growing states in the country. The cases are growing rapidly at a rate of 6.20 %.
In addition, the mortality rate of COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh is 0.90 %, the average growth rate of the infection is now 5.90% from the previous 8.60% and the recovery rate now is 63.30 % from the previous 61.80%.
Till the 11th of August, Andhra Pradesh conducted a total of 25,34,304 tests for the Novel Coronavirus.
The total population of the State as per 2019 data is 5,22,21,000.
