Andhra Pradesh recorded the highest single day cases of the Novel Coronavirus. In the past 24 hours, the State reported 18,972 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total over 11.63 lakh cases.
This is the first time in 2021, that the State’s single day cases surged 18,0000. Besides new cases, Andhra Pradesh reported 71 and 10,227 people recovered/discharged in the past 24 hours.
The aforementioned data was released through a media bulletin by the State Health Department. According to the bulletin, in the past 24 hours, the Andhra Pradesh Medical department conducted a total of 1,15,275 sample tests for COVID-19. The bulletin was released in the late evening of the 3rd of May.
With this, Andhra Pradesh has 11,63,994 positive cases, of which 1,51,852 are active cases, 8,207 are deceased cases and 10,03,935 are recovered/discharged cases.
Highlighting the district wise data, Kurnool reported the highest 2,628 cases followed by Visakhapatnam with 1,960 and East Godavari with 1,914 cases.
