Andhra Pradesh Reports Highest single Day Spike Of 10,093 With 65 Deaths In Past 24 Hours

On the 29th of July, the Andhra Pradesh Health department confirmed nearly 10,000 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. Of the total cases, 60% were reported in the past few days.

This is higher than any other state, barring Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. As a result, Andhra Pradesh is on fourth place in the list of highest number of COVID-19 cases in Indian states.

The top four are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and the National Capital Delhi.

With the new 10,093 cases, the total reached 1,20,390 cases till date. This is the biggest spike ever in the State since the infection broke out.

Meanwhile, the number of deceased with 65 new cases reached a total of 1,213 in the past 24 hours.

With these updates, Andhra Pradesh has a total of 63,771 active cases, 55,406 recovered/discharged cases and 1,213 deceased.

The top four districts of Andhra Pradesh with the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus active cases are East Godavari (11,896,) Kurnool (7,115,) Guntur (5,981,) 877West Godavari (6,263,) Anantapur (6,877) Chittoor (4,087) and Guntur (6,877)

In terms of the Novel Coronavirus, Andhra Pradesh has now become one of the fastest growing states in the country. The cases are growing rapidly at a rate of 12.03 %.

In addition, the mortality rate of COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh is 1 %, the average growth rate of the infection is now 12.03 % from the previous 9% and the recovery rate now is 46%.

Till the 29th of July, Andhra Pradesh conducted a total of 17,49,425 tests for the Novel Coronavirus.

The total population of the State as per 2019 data is 5,22,21,000.
