Andhra Pradesh: Two YSRCP MLAs Test Positive For COVID-19

On the 9th of September, two Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of Andhra Pradesh’s ruling Government, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) ested positive for the deadly Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection.

Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, the MLA of Mangalagiri constituency of Guntur district and Dadishetti Raja, the Andhra Pradesh Government Whip and MLA of Tuni constituency of East Godavari district tested positive for COVID-19.

According to sources, Ramkrishna Reddy recently lost his father Dasaratha Ramireddy.

Mr. Reddy took the Novel Coronavirus test on the 8th of September and tested positive on the 9th of September. Mr. Reddy took to Twitter and said he tested positive for the infection. He asked people who were in contact with him to isolate themselves and get a COVID-19 test done if possible.

Alla Ramakrishna Reddy is currently under home isolation.

Meanwhile, Dadishetti Raja said he is in Visakhapatnam to and taking medical treatment under the supervision of doctors at a private hospital.

In the past few days, the number of Novel Coronavirus cases is rising with a massive spike.

In the past month, nearly 10,000 single day spikes are being reported, taking the total to nearly 5 lakh cases.

Andhra Pradesh has a total of 5,27,512 positive cases, of which 97,271 are active cases, 4,25,607 are recovered/discharged and 4,634 deceased.

The recovery rate of COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh is at 80.70% and mortality rate is 0.90%.
