Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 20th of June, will visit the Polavaram Project, Andhra Pradesh (AP.)
The Polavaram Project is a multipurpose irrigation project situated on the Godavari river, in the East and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh. The Project is under construction and was designed as a solution to the scarcity of water in the State.
With the completion of the Polavaram Project, approximately 4 crore people of the State would be benefited in the field of irrigation.
This is the first visit of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to the Polavaram Project as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. During his visit, he will be accompanied by the officials of the Water Department and will conduct a review meeting.
Jagan also directed the officials to supervise and complete the work fast, as it is urgent.
After the visit to the Polavaram Project, Mr. Jagan will also take a decision regarding the construction of the irrigation project. He will decide whether the construction of the project will be supervised by the State Government or the Central Government.
The Polavaram Project is a national project, which was started under N. Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to visit the site at 11:30 A.M.
