Daggubati Purandeswari, a former Union Minister and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member, tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
Ms. Purandeswari suffered viral symptoms, following which she took a COVID-19 test and resulted positive.
As of now, Daggubati Purandeswari is undergoing treatment for the Coronavirus at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
Ms. Purandeswari was recently appointed as one of the National General Secretaries of the BJP.
It is not clear from where Ms. Purandeswari contracted the virus. However, she might have contracted the virus during her recent visit to Delhi for some BJP activities and meetings.
Many BJP leaders and Ms. Purandeswari’s followers took to Twitter and prayed for her speedy recovery.
