The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President of Andhra Pradesh unit, Somu Veerraju is in Delhi. He left for Delhi on the 21st of July, for a three day tour.
During his Delhi visit, Mr. Somu Veerraju is scheduled to meet the Jal Shakti Minister of India Gajendra Shekhawat and the Union Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy. According to sources, the meetings with the ministers would focus on the ongoing Krishna River Water dispute between the two Telugu states.
The ongoing war of water between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, intensified with the intervention of the Central Government.
Somu Veerraju is also expected to present ideas and discuss the development of Andhra Pradesh in the irrigation and agriculture sector with both the Union ministers. Besides the two ministers, the BJP President of Andhra Pradesh would also meet several BJP leaders in Delhi.
Meanwhile, if sources are to be believed, the BJP is planning to appoint a new President of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh. Disappointed with the performance of Somu Veerraju in Andhra Pradesh, the National Unit of BJP is mulling over a few names to take over as the new BJP President in A.P. However, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.
Somu Veerraju is expected to come back to Andhra Pradesh on the 23rd of July. Immediately after coming back, he is scheduled to take temple tours in Srisailam and other regions, taking initiative towards the development of temple infrastructure. More details about his temple tour in A.P., are awaited.
