Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 12th of July, presented the Budget of Andhra Pradesh for the financial year 2019-2020.

During the Budget session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, on behalf of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) the State Government of AP, announced the Budget.

The State allocated an amount of Rs. 1,740 crores for the YSR Aarogyasri scheme and Rs. 1,500 crores each for the improvement of infrastructure of schools and hospitals in the State.

Rs. 475 crores were given to provide power to aqua farmers at subsidised prices, whereas Rs. 4,525 crores were reserved for 9 hours of power supply to farmers in the agricultural sector.

Apart from this, Rs. 3,000 crores were allocated to create a market stabilisation fund and Rs. 2,000 crores for the calamity assistance fund in the State.

The State also provided Rs. 300 crores for the YSR BC Kalyana Kanuka scheme and Rs. 404 crores for the YSR crop insurance scheme.

Working towards the welfare of the Kapu community, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP allocated Rs. 2,000 crores for the Kapu community in Andhra Pradesh.

Rs. 700 crores were given for the maintenance of village secretariats across Andhra Pradesh and Rs. 648 crores were set aside for self help urban group loans.

The State also devoted a sum of Rs. 260 crores for the Andhra Road Development Corporation (ARDC.)

The State also allocated Rs. 1,140 crores for providing no interest loan scheme to women self help groups and Rs. 8,994 crores for payment of interest on the debt.

As of now, the deficit amount of Andhra Pradesh is Rs. 35,000 crores.

The State granted a total of Rs. 2,27,474 crores for the development of the different fields of the State.

Apart from announcing the Budget for the fiscal year 2019-2020, Buggana Rajendranath Reddy also assured to get the Special Category Status (SCS) granted to AP, which the State has been demanding since the bifurcation.
