AP Capital Issue – Legislative Council Chairman’s Decision Leads To Dispute

After the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) Legislative Council decided to refer the A.P. capital decentralisation bills to a select committee, the situation in the State became quite tense.

While the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is happy with the decision, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government is opposing it.

On the 23rd of January, a few TDP leaders alleged the YSRCP leaders of making inappropriate and derogatory comments against Shariff Mohammed Ahmed, the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council.

However, Mr. Ahmed said he does not have any idea about it and does not know who used abusive words against him.

Though Ahmed Shariff is unaware of these things and ignored them, TDP and JanaSena leaders and activists took to social media and left no chance to accuse YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana of passing the derogatory comments.

TDP leaders like Jaleel Khan, Kesineni Nani, Budda Venkanna, Bachula Arjuna and others slammed the YSRCP members.

The TDP leaders even said the YSRCP ministers attended the Assembly session in a drunken state.

However, the YSRCP denied all the allegations and decided to complain to the Privilege Committee regarding the same.

Meanwhile, Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, who is against the Chairman’s decision, decided to abolish the Legislative Council.

However, a final decision regarding the same would be taken during a meeting on the 27th of January.

Stay tuned for further updates.
