Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) announced an ex gratia to the families of jawans who lost their lives in the Chhattisgarh Maoist incident. 

On the 5th of April, Jagan Mohan Reddy announced to give Rs. 30 lakhs each to the families of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans Routhu Jagdish of Vizianagaram and Murli Krishna from Guntur. The two soldiers along with 20 others lost their lives in a Maoist encounter.

On the 4th of April, a massive search operation was launched in Bijapur of Chhattisgarh for Naxals. The operation involved the Special Task Force (STF,) District Reserve Guards (DRG) and District Force of the Chhattisgarh Police. The CRPF and its elite (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) CoBRA unit, with close to a 1,000 personnel from Bijapur alone.

An open fire battle broke out between the CRPF Jawans and Maoist in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister expressed grief over the demise of the two Andhra Pradesh soldiers and directed officials to provide financial assistance immediately to the families. CM Jagan made it clear that he would support the kin of the deceased on behalf of the State Government in all possible ways.
