Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister (CM) of Andhra Pradesh, met Mamata Banerjee, the CM of West Bengal on the 20th of May.
According to sources, the meeting is said to be a discussion regarding post poll alliance against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
The meeting started at 4:30 P.M.
A Party source, who wished to be anonymous, said, “Naidu will hold a meeting with Mamata Banerjee at the West Bengal Secretariat this afternoon. Both will hold talks on the strategies of the ‘mahagatbandhan’ (grand alliance.)”
This is not the first time the duo are having a secret meeting regarding the alliance.
Previously, Mamata Banerjee and Naidu conducted several meetings to compete against the BJP.
Naidu travelled to Kolkata, West Bengal after his live press conference in Amravati, Andhra Pradesh.
This was Naidu’s third meeting with the anti BJP parties, after the Lok Sabha elections. Recently, Naidu met Mayawati Das, the President of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Akhilesh Yadav, the President of the Samajwadi Party (SP.)
On the 18th of May, Naidu held meeting with Akhilesh and Mayawati in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Apart from leaders in Uttar Pradesh, Naidu also met Rahul Gandhi, the President of the Indian National Congress (INC) in Delhi.
It is said, Naidu and Mamta discussed the meetings which took place with other political leaders and plan their strategy against the BJP.
