Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) launched the Jagananna Pacha Thoranam and Vana Mahotsavam (forest festival) program 2021. The planting of the saplings programme was launched today, the 5th of August, at the premises of the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS,) Mangalagiri region of Guntur district.

With the launch event, the A.P., Chief Minister marked the beginning of the annual program of planting saplings during the monsoon season. The aim behind this initiative of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government is to increase 33 % greenery under the National Forest Policy in A.P. Besides enhanced greenery, balanced climate, environment protection are also major goals of the YSRCP with the month long program.

The YSRCP ministers, public representatives and other officials in all the districts have made arrangements to launch the sapling program across the State.

In 2021, the YSRCP would plant saplings at 17,000 YSR Jagananna colonies, schools, hospitals and other places. The launch of plants program is a part of the big Nadu Nedu Program of the ruling Government, towards the growth and the development of A.P.

The District In Charge Minister Cherukuvada Sriranganatharaju along with Mangalagiri Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and other officials reviewed the arrangements for the CM’s visit and today’s event.

According to sources, the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh planted a total of 33.23 crore saplings in the past 2 years.

For today’s event, the Andhra Pradesh State Power, Forest, Environment, Science and Technology Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said, the State Government is planning to plant five crore saplings across the state during this Monsoon season.

In regard to this, the YSRCP Government asked the concerned authorities, district collectors and other officials to step in.
