Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) is scheduled to launch another scheme for the development of A.P., and its citizens.

Mr. Reddy is going to launch the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme in Chittoor district, A.P., on the 9th of January.  The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) sanctioned Rs. 6,109 crores for the Amma Vodi scheme.

According to the scheme, the State Government would provide financial assistance of Rs.15,000 per month to mothers or guardians for sending their children to school.

As many as 81,72,224 students from Class 1 to Class 12 would be provided education under the scheme.  Adimulapa Suresh, the Education Minister of A.P., said, “The data collected through the door to door visit by village volunteers and ward secretaries will be verified along with the list of students given by the schools by the 8th of January.”

The amount would directly be transferred to the bank accounts of the mothers or guardians in January.

The Amma Vodi scheme was one of the schemes promised by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his election campaigns and in the YSRCP’s manifesto.  The scheme would benefit as many as 3.19 lakh mothers in A.P.
