Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 5th of February, presented the State Budget for the fiscal year between 2019 and 2020.

The State’s revenue for the current year is expected to be Rs. 2,099.47 crores. The revenue expenditure and the capital expenditure are expected to rise by 20.03 %.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu announced, the budget for 2019 is Rs. 2,26,17,753 crores. In addition to the Budget, the State also introduced new welfare schemes for the citizens of Andhra Pradesh.

The Medical and Health Department will be allocated an amount of Rs. 10,032 crores. The NTR Vaidya Seva will be provided with Rs. 1,200 cores and the Ministry of Human Resource and Development will be given Rs. 29,955 crores.

The other schemes to get a hike in budget as a part of the new State Budget are the schemes for the welfare of the differently abled (Rs. 70 crores,) minority welfare (Rs. 1,304 crores) and the Backward Classes’ (BC) welfare (Rs. 3,000 crores.) The Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme will be allocated Rs. 5,000 crores. The budget assigned for Kapu and Brahmin welfare is Rs. 1,000 crores and 100 crores respectively.

According to sources, the newly added schemes are the Annadata Sukhibhava Scheme for the farmers (worth Rs. 5,000 crores,) the Kshatriya Corporation scheme (Rs. 50 crores,) the house site land collection scheme (Rs. 500 crores,) the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) promotions (Rs. 400 crores) and the Drivers Sadhikara Samstha (Rs. 150 crores.)

Apart from all these welfare schemes, the State Government also increased the pension under the Chandranna Yuva Nestam Pensions scheme to Rs. 2,000.
