AP Government Issues Notification Regarding Jurisdiction Of CBI Courts In State

The Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government, on the 10th of February, issued an official notification regarding the jurisdiction of the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) courts in the State.

The Home Ministry of the State released a press notification regarding the same.

According to the released notification, the CBI courts will now be authorised to handle cases of the mentioned districts in Andhra Pradesh.

The special CBI Court in Visakhapatnam would handle CBI cases in not just Visakhapatnam but also districts like East Godavari, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram.

On the other hand, the special CBI Court in Vijayawada would also have jurisdiction in the districts of Prakasam, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Nellore.

The Home State Department’s order also stated the Fifth Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court would take up all the cases in A.P., except those registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The notification pertaining to the jurisdiction of the 2 special CBI Courts would come into effect soon.
