Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 26th of May, diherected the State officials to provide Rs. 13,500 to farmers in the State.

The amount would be given to the farmers under the YSR Rythu Bharosa Scheme, a welfare scheme, ensuring financial help to the farmers in the  State.

The scheme would benefit farmers financially and expand their agriculture and irrigation in the State.

Regarding the scheme, the Chief Minister of A.P., conducted a meeting with concerned officials to the YSR Rythu Bandhu Bharosa-PM Kisan Yojana scheme.

Mr. Reddy also interacted with the farmers on agriculture and allied sectors.  He said the Government has decided to extend support to the farmers for five years instead of previous 4 years’ benefit, under the scheme.

Mr. Reddy said each farmer would get an amount of Rs. 13,500 financial assistance per year.

In regard to this, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) released an amount of Rs. 10,209 crores  for the first year payment.

Meanwhile, the State Government spent Rs.1,270 crores for crop insurance and sanctioning loans to farmers at zero percent interest rates, Rs. 8,800 crores to ensure free power to the farmers and  Rs.1,700 crore to set up feeders to supply power in day time also.

The scheme would benefit as many as 49.3 lakh farmers in the State.
