The G.N. Rao Committee is soon going to start a probe regarding irregularities and insider trading in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) proposed by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)

According to the report submitted by the G.N. Rao Committee, appointed by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., several irregularities and insider trading were observed during the reign of the TDP as the State’s Government.

After conducting a Cabinet meeting on the 27th of December, Perni Venkataramaiah, popularly referred to as Perni Nani, the Information and Technology Minister of A.P., addressed the media and said, “The cabinet sub committee on insider trading in the capital region has found several irregularities and unfair practices during the previous TDP Government.”  He further added, ”The State will take legal opinion and then refer the matter to either Lokayukta or go for a CBI or CB-CID inquiry”

According to the G.N. Rao, Sub Committee, the family members of N. Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the TDP, were involved in insider trading of land and other illegal activities in Amaravati since 2014.

Mr. Perni Nani said, ”The data of all the buyers of land on the peripheries of the capital region, ahead of the announcement of the name in December is with the Government. The names include those who held high positions in the previous government including, ministers, their relatives, workers, and drivers.”

Meanwhile, amid protests, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) did not make a final decision regarding the State having 3 capitals.  The State Government decided to initiate a probe against the TDP in relation to irregularities in Amaravati and also to constitute a high power committee to take a final call about the State’s capital.

Stay tuned for further updates.
