Aiming for a better education system in the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh, the State School Education Department signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ed-tech company Byju’s.

On the 16th of June, Thursday, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government signed an agreement to provide quality content to government school students from classes 4 to 10.  Mr. S. Suresh Kumar, the School Education Commissioner, and Mr. Sushmit Sarkar, the Vice President of Byju’s signed the agreement in the presence of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.  In addition, Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana, the Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and State Special Chief Secretary Mr. B Rajsekhar were also present during the event of signing the agreement.

According to sources, the YSRCP Government decided to distribute tabs, for Rs. 500 crores, to 4.7 lakh students of class 8, enhancing digital learning.  In addition, Byju’s content would be incorporated in all textbooks for these classes from next year in both Telugu and English.  Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “Visual presentation and content enhancement would come through from 4th to 10th class in government schools. This will be a game-changer.”

Taking pride in this initiative, enhancing the education system, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the digital content that would otherwise cost Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 24,000 per student, would be delivered to government school students free of cost.
