AP Grama Panchayat Elections Conclude, YSRCP Wins With Majority Votes

On the 21st of February, Andhra Pradesh concluded the Grama Panchayat elections.

The four phased elections started on the 9th of February and ended on the 21st of February.

In the last phase, the State recorded 82.85 % of voters turnout, making the panchayat elections amid the Novel Coronavirus pandemic a big success.

Of all the districts, Vizianagaram district topped with 87.09 % polling and Nellore district registered lowest of 76 % polling.

In addition, the first phase of panchayat polls registered 81.67 % voting, the second phase 81.61 % polling, the third phase 80.71 % polling and the fourth phase 82.85 % polling. With this, the total voters turnout for Grama Panchayat polling is 81.78 %.

With this, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) won the Grama Panchayat elections with the support and votes of villagers in all the four phases. The YSRCP won more than 10,000 gram panchayat (ward) posts and 7,869 gram panchayat posts in all the four phases.

The population of Andhra Pradesh extended their votes to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his welfare schemes, aiming towards growth and population.

Besides the YSRCP, the other political parties in the fray were the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the JanaSena Party and the Indian National Congress (INC.)
