On the 10th of June, the Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) reviewed the situation of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the State.

The review was based on a petition filed over COVID-19 cases, vaccination drives, cases of Black Fungus and other measures in Andhra Pradesh. During the court hearing, the State HC reviews preparation to tackle the expected third wave of the Wuha virus, the medical facilities, arrangements of vaccination drives and other important issues.

Responding to the Andhra Pradesh HC, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government assured all the arrangements were under control and updated about the situation. The Andhra Pradesh Government said, they hired 26,325 additional medical staff including doctors and medical staff at several government hospitals. Numbers of beds and oxygen storage have also been increased in the wake of the expected third wave.

In addition, the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government decided to open three new pediatric centres for kids, as the third wave is expected to be dangerous for children. The representative of the State Government also gave details about current cases, cases of Black Fungus and other arrangements by the State Government

The Government advocate told the High Court about a decision taken by the YSRCP Government, which is to vaccinate senior citizens, without Aadhar Card. However, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to vaccinate all the senior citizens soon and submitted a memo regarding the same.
