The Andhra Pradesh (AP) High Court (HC,) on the 2nd of July, reviewed a petition filed against the State Government for the security reduction of Chandrababu Naidu and his family.

Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, filed a petition against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

Mr. Naidu alleged, the YSRCP, which is the new Government of AP, of reducing his security and demanded the restoration of the security.

However, Sriram, the Advocate General (AG) representing the YSRCP, denied the allegations and said, according to the Government’s rule, as a former Chief Minister, Naidu should have a security staff of 58 personnel, but he was provided with 74 personnel.

The AG of the YSRCP said, “He is being given the security more than the necessary (sic.)”

Subba Rao, the advocate representing Naidu, said, Naidu’s life is in danger. He also added, considering Naidu was the former Chief Minister and may have a lot of enemies, his security arrangements are not sufficient.

Subba Rao said, Chandrababu Naidu, as the Chief Minister of AP, took various decisions and actions against smugglers, goons and criminals, who may take revenge on him, due to which, his security should not be decreased.

After hearing both sides of the argument, the Andhra Pradesh High Court asked the State Government to submit complete details about Naidu’s security and adjourned the case.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled to be held on the 9th of July.
