On the 23rd of June, Andhra Pradesh, reported a total of 462 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
The death cases also increased by 8 new deceased cases taking the total to 119 till the 23rd of June. Out of the eight new deaths, 3 occurred in Krishna and 3 in Kurnool and remaining two took place in Guntur and Kadapa each.
After a decrease in the single day spike in the May month, Andhra Pradesh again started to report a high number of cases of the Novel Coronavirus everyday.
During the past five days, 27 deaths were reported and Krishna district continues to report the highest number of deaths (40).
In the past 24 hours,the Andhra Pradesh Government conducted 20, 639 sample tests for COVID-19.
Of the total 462 cases, 407 are of residents of Andhra Pradesh and remaining 55 are from different states.
With this, the overall tally of the Novel Coronavirus cases reached 9,834
Out of the total, 4, 592 patients have recovered and 5,123 are active patients.
Speaking about district wise cases of COVID-19, East Godavari district alone reported 87 new cases and Anantapur reported 68 new cases.
Cases in other districts reported were: Kurnool (53,) Guntur (50,) Krishna (33,) West Godavari (31,) Chittoor (26,) Kadapa (24,) Visakhapatnam (21,) Nellore (7,) Prakasam (5,) Srikakulam (1) and Vizianagaram (1.)
The State has tested 7.14 lakh samples till the 23rd of June.
