On the 5th of July, Tuesday, Ms. A. Surya Kumari, the Badnagi District Collector, launched the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka in Badangi Zila Parishad (ZP) High School.  

During the launch event, Ms. A. Surya Kumari distributed the Vidya Kanuka kits to 1,70,232 students, for which, the Andhra Pradesh Government released an amount of Rs. 33.43 crores.  After the launch, Ms. Surya Kumari addressed the students and advised them to avail the facilities and welfare schemes implemented by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government.

Furthermore, highlighting the development in the education sector under the leadership of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Ms. Surya Kumari asked parents to send their children to schools, instead of work.

Notably, on the 5th of July, the first day of school after summer vacation, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the Vidya Kanuka kit program at Adoni Municipal High School of Kurnool district.  For the program, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has spent Rs. 931.02 crores.  While Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the program in Kurnool, other government officials, and district collectors, distributed the kits to students in their respective districts.  Approximately 47 lakhs would be benefited from the scheme, across Andhra Pradesh in the 2021-2022 academic session.  The special kits consisting of three pairs of uniform cloth, shoes, socks, a belt, a school bag, textbooks, workbooks, and an Oxford English Telugu dictionary, would be given to students of classes I to X, in government schools.

Furthermore, the government has a proposal to introduce English medium in intermediate education also, announced the YSRCP Government.
