Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 28th of November, paid tribute to Jyotiba Phule, a social reformer.
On the occasion of Jyotiba Phule’s death anniversary, the AP Governor paid tribute to him with a garland. Mahatma Jyotirao Govindrao Phule, popularly known as Jyotiba Phule, was a social reformer and always fought on the basis of his ideals and was against caste discrimination and gender discrimination.
An event was organised on Jyotiba Phule’s death anniversary and Mr. Harichandan addressed the gathering.
During the event organised at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Andhra Pradesh, the AP Governor said Jyotiba Phule was a great social reformer and social activist who fought for the rights of women and against untouchability.
Remembering the contribution of Jyotiba Phule, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan said he initiated a movement for equality and equal justice for all and devoted his life to accomplishing his mission.
Arjuna Rao, the Joint Secretary to the Governor and officials of the Raj Bhavan attended the event.
