The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the JanaSena Party, which recently formed an alliance in Andhra Pradesh, are going to contest the local body elections in the State together.

The JanaSena and the BJP leaders, on the 28th of January, conducted a coordination committee meeting in Vijayawada.  During the meeting, some of the leaders of both parties, T. Siva Shankar, Somu Veerraju, Daggubati Purandeswari and Nadendla Manohar, discussed the alliance and the forthcoming local bodies’ elections in A.P.

The BJP and the JanaSena would soon constitute a committee to work on the campaign for the local body elections and the general secretaries of both the parties would decide the members of the committee.

The committee would also strategise their campaign agenda accordingly and would meet the farmers of Amaravati who sacrificed their land for the development of Amaravati.

The major parties in the fray to contest the upcoming local body elections in the State are the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) the BJP-JanaSena alliance and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)
