BJP’s Ratna Prabha To Contest From Tirupati By Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  finalised the name of former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer K. Ratna Prabha as their candidate for the Tirupati by election.

The Tirupati Parliamentary constituency is scheduled to conduct the by election on the 17th of April.  The Tirupati Lok Sabha seat necessitated as sitting Member of Parliament (MP) Balli Durga Prasada Rao passed away in 2020 due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

This time, the BJP is contesting with the support of the JanaSena Party in Andhra Pradesh and formed an alliance.

According to the sources, Ratna Prabha served as the Chief Secretary for the Karnataka Government.  An official announcement about her candidature is expected very shortly.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties like the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) also decidee their caniddates for the Tirupati elections.  From the YSRCP, Dr. Gurumurthy is the MP candidate and from the TDP, former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi is contesting for the Tirupati by elections.

The results of the Tirupati by election would be announced on the 2nd of May.
