The Central Government approved to release the deficit revenue fundings to the Telugu State. Not only this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government also approved additional funding of Rs. 12,911 crores, for the Polavaram Project.
It is to be noted, started under the regime of the Nara Chandrababu Naidu led Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) the Polavaram Project is still pending, due to funding issues. However, the good relations of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) with the BJP Government, seems to be an important reason behind this pending approval.
Recently, the Union Finance Ministry has approved the release of Rs. 12,911 crores for the construction of Polavaram project. The approval came after the recently held meeting between the Finance Ministry and the Jal Power Department.
Meanwhile, after the approval, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is scheduled to visit the Polavaram project site. During the visit, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would also discuss the latest situation with the concerned officials.
