On the 29th of November, a Central Team to assist the flood damaged situation met with Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)
The Central team was headed by Mr. Kunal Satyarthi, the Advisor to the Union Home Ministry to National Ministry of Defence. Mr. Kunal Satyarthi briefed Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy with the details of the flood situation in the State and lauded the efforts of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
Highlighting the details of the report by the Central team, Mr. Kunal Satyarthi said they visited flood affected areas for 3 days and covered mandals and villages, affected due to rain. Of all, villages and regions of Kadapa district were badly affected in terms of infrastructure, properties like roads and buildings.
However, the concerned officials of the State Government controlled the situation and started relief works and cooperated with the Central Team. Mr. Kunal Satyarthi said, “During our visits we met, various political figures and media representatives who praised the performance of the state government in the floods,” He further said, “There are no reservoirs or dams in the area that can control flooding at this level; existing dams and reservoirs were also not built in anticipation of this level of flooding.”
Concluding the meeting, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister noted the points of the Central Team and thanked the team.
