The Andhra Pradesh Police, on the 11th of September, detained many Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly in Andhra Pradesh.

In order to stop the Chalo Atmakur rally, the AP Police deployed officials in Palnadu, Guntur and Atmakur.  The AP Police also imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in Palnadu to avoid violence and maintain peace.

On the morning of the 11th of September, the Guntur Police arrested Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, a former MLA of the TDP, when he was heading to Guntur to meet Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the TDP.

K. Srinivas, another TDP MP, was also detained from Prakasam Barrage, when he was on his way to meet Chandrababu Naidu.  Y.V.B. Rajendra Prasad, a Member of the Legislative Council of the TDP, is in prevention custody, along with Tangirala Sowmya, Bhumika Akhila Priya, Devineni Avinash, Ayyannapatdudu, Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, Peela Govind and other TDP leaders.

Apart from these TDP leaders, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders and activists were also put under house arrest and denied permission to hold a counter rally against the TDP.

The YSRCP ordered the AP Police to maintain peace in regions like Guntur and Palnadu.

Chandrababu Naidu, on the 10th of September, called for a rally against the YSRCP, alleging the Party of attacking TDP workers and activists and forcing them to flee from their homes.

The Police even prevented Nara Lokesh and Chandrababu Naidu from interacting with the media and restricted the entry of the media in the TDP office in Guntur.

Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP leaders will launch a 12 hour hunger strike, after the AP Police refused to give permission for the Chalo Atmakur rally.
